I haven't done this book blogger hop in a long time, but since I just moved over to a new blog, I'm feeling the need for some blog love. :) The question for this week is:
"What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?"
There seems to be quite a few books that are super hyped that I haven't enjoyed, and I've found that they're mostly YA books. Things like Twilight, Fallen, and Shiver come to mind. I don't know if I've ever reviewed any that I really didn't like, but normally if I don't like a book I don't have any problem writing a negative review. Everybody likes different things, and I think it's good to have a balance of positive and negative reviews.
Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment so I can come and visit your blog, too.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I've enjoyed reading your reviews. I'm a new follower! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHopping by!
ReplyDeleteI dropped in through the hop, so now I'm off to check out your previous posts. See you around!
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through the hop and your comment on mine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new site Brenda. Added my follow and will delete the old one!! This one is really pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Fallen seems to be a popular answer for this question:) I do love the covers on both Fallen and Torment, they're just gorgeous. New follower here and I hope you have a great weekend!

Brenda, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and become a follower! I'm stopping by to return the favor and follow you too.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Fallen and Twilight were really blown out of proportion. They were okay first novels, but nothing special. It always amazes me that books like this manage to become bestsellers while other absolutely fantastic books just fall under the radar. But hey, to each their own.
Looking forward to reading your posts!
Happy hop!
I actually really like Twilight, however, I haven't read the other books that you've mentioned yet.
ReplyDeleteWow, your site is lovely...the fairytale theme is one I enjoy (I have a blog called Stardust Dreams).
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my site.
I think that the hyped books that I wouldn't enjoy and don't even bother to read are some of the very ones you mentioned!
thanks for visiting my blog! im now following!
ReplyDeleteThe Scorch Trials is equally frustrating? Oh dear...*wonders if she should continue reading the series* Thanks for dropping by - I like the background of your blog!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the blog hop....I saw a comment on another blog about The Time Traveler's Wife and how you really couldn't get into it.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really into it either. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog! Shiver was one of those books for me too, it just wasn't as good as all the hype suggested.
ReplyDeleteJust hopping by and saying HI! I’m still pretty new to the book blogosphere, so I haven’t come across this problem yet… I agree with you on the Twilight series.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Stop by and say hi if you get a chance. http://twobibliomaniacs.blogspot.com

Hopping by to return the visit and follow! I wonder if the whole YA genre just gets more hype than other types of books...

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hi Brenda!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the Brazen Broads Book Bash and commenting. We're your newest followers.
I never did get the Twilight series, but then again, I didn't get the Zsadist thing either, and I'm standing pretty much alone on that one in the BDB world.
Hope you'll stop by again!
